How did I get to 24 weeks pregnant?
Everyone says it goes much quicker second time around and that is so true! Everything goes much quicker when you have a baby. That’s why we’re always saying, ‘I can’t believe he’s 1 already’, ‘ I can’t believe he’s walking!’ and apparently we carry on with the same disbelief until they go to university (or so I’m told!).
I love the time around 24 weeks of pregnancy…
You look obviously pregnant, but not massive yet, so you can still wear nice things and show your bump off with pride. Tiredness and the general yucky feeling of the early weeks is long gone (we hope). Your baby has also reached the crucial milestone which means that should they be born, they have an increasing chance of surviving outside of the womb. Your baby is the size of a cantaloupe melon and has developed tastebuds and fingerprints, how amazing is that! I am so aware of kicks and wriggles now. They say that you can start to notice a pattern of activity and sleep, and this pattern can mirror the one that your baby has when they are born…I’m starting to think that this baby doesn’t sleep very often…uh oh!
What to wear?
Now that your bump is most definitely there, it’s likely that your old wardrobe is starting to struggle to keep up with your changing shape. And more than anything you want to be comfortable! I find that squeezing in to my old favourites is getting more difficult and it’s crazy how tops you once thought were quite long struggle to cover your bump. So, as a treat, a kind of ‘over half way there’ celebration, I decided it was time to try my favourite item from this season’s range….
I really love this denim maternity dress. It’s on-trend for SS14 and a classic and flattering style. The light weight denim is really soft and comfortable and looks great with tan ankle boots. It is an effortless style that is so easy to wear and makes your bump look really cute. The perfect addition to pregnant fashionistas’ wardrobes!
