Baby it’s cold outside…
Being pregnant during the wintertime certainly has its positives. For one you have your own in-built hot water bottle keeping you toasty and warm with none of the discomfort of summertime. But dressing your bump for winter can have its challenges – right now the idea of throwing on a summer dress and flip-flops seems such a breeze in comparison to bending over your bump and struggling to pull on your winter boots while you layer up your old favourites in the hope that they will stretch and keep the draft out.
Fear not as there are ways of keeping your style during the colder months without breaking the bank.
Our tips for dressing your bump for winter:
Look out for bottoms with an over-the-bump panel. This is ideal for keeping the cold out when some of your tops may not stretch quite as far as you would like.
Find a warm cardigan and add a belt to keep it tied across your bump. This is a really nice style when pregnant and the perfect alternative to a coat. And a cardigan is a keeper for your post-pregnancy wardrobe.
Maternity vest tops are ideal for layering and can extend the life of some of your non-maternity tops during your pregnancy.
Treat yourself to a maternity jumper for those really cold days when your bump just needs to be wrapped up and comfortable.
Make sure you get a warm pair of maternity tights to wear with your stretch dresses for easy pregnancy style.
Ponchos are perfect for throwing over your bump. They are ideal when travelling or for snuggling up at home and they have the added bonus of being the perfect top for breastfeeding.
…and don’t forget a stylish scarf to bring it all together
